What To Bring

WHAT TO EXPECT

Encounter is a gathering of women from all walks of life. You will hear multiple sessions that address different aspects of every woman’s life.  Each session will have a teaching, and most will be accompanied by personal testimony. These testimonies and teachings are brought to you by common women, like you and me. They will share personal experiences of how God took them from bondage to freedom. These will be real-life stories that can apply to your life as well. If you have ever wondered if there really is a God, wondered why God created you, or if God could even love you now, then you need come see for yourself how He does love each one of us. You will enjoy lots of good food and make many new friends.

No outdoor camping is involved. We will be staying in dorm-style rooms with restrooms and showers. While you may be stretched out of your comfort zone, we promise to not make you do anything against your will. This is not a touchy-feely event. It is a chance to find Godly direction for your life. Encounter is meant to give you the opportunity to get some of your “life” questions answered.  God says in His Word, “If you seek me wholeheartedly, you will find me!” (Jeremiah 29:13)  This verse is a promise, from God. Stand on it! Come, seek, and find out for yourself what more God has for you!

FAQ

FAQ

What are the event times?

Times vary somewhat from launch point location to location.  However, in general, the first day is evening only (probably wouldn't have to miss work), day 2 is all day, and day 3 ends and returns you to your launch point by mid to late afternoon.

Do I Drive Myself?

No. Attendees will "launch" with other attendees at various launch points. You will ride together to the event.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Attendees will be housed in dormitory style housing on campus, which is typically a twin sized bunk bed. Mattress is provided, and rooms are heated and cooled. Showers and toilets are readily available.  We can accommodate special sleeping needs with knowledge beforehand.

Can I come Late/Leave early?

The impact of this event is maximized by your complete attendance to all 48 hours. In extreme situations, we can accommodate some special circumstances, but please plan to attend all sessions from beginning to end.

Will I be forced to participate in anything?

No. Your participation is completely voluntary. No coercion will be used. However, you will benefit far more from the experience if you are willing to let yourself participate.
